Destination Wedding Makeup Guide
Humidity, salt air, altitude and unfamiliar light — what changes when your wedding is somewhere else.
Destination weddings change the makeup brief more than most brides expect.
Humidity is the main variable
Goa in January and Udaipur in November are different problems. Coastal humidity breaks down base from underneath; dry heat breaks it down from the surface. The products change accordingly, and so does the setting technique.
Salt air and pool water
Beach ceremonies mean everything waterproof — not water-resistant. Lashes get adhesive rated for it. Lip gets sealed.
Altitude and dry air
Hill stations dehydrate skin fast. The base goes on thinner, over more moisturiser, and gets set far less.
Logistics matter more than products
Multi-day weddings mean back-to-back early mornings. Travel is booked so the artist arrives at least a day early — never on the morning of the first event. Kit travels as hand luggage. There is always a backup of anything that cannot be replaced locally.
Plan the looks before you travel
Trials happen at home, weeks in advance. Once you are on location there is no time to rethink anything.
